Can't believe it. I'm no Adam Elliott when it comes to movies. But I've actually seen 5 out of the 10 movies nominated for Best Picture! The Social Network, The Kids Are All Right, Black Swan, Toy Story 3 and Winter's Bone (at right) are the ones I saw with True Grit, Inception, 127 Hours, The Fighter and The King's Speech being the 5 I still need to see. But I don't need to see the other 5. Because there is no way that any of them are better than Winter's Bone. I think about that movie all the time; it haunts me. So understated, so real. Here's a professional description of the movie...
Winter's Bone: Jennifer Lawrence plays a teenage Ozark Mountains girl who defies her clan's code to hunt down her crystal-meth-making father after he's skipped bail and her family home is on the line. With a disabled mom and young siblings facing destitution, she redefines family loyalty and confronts her kin to bring her father home.
Amazing flick--enjoy!
