I had the pleasure of seeing this show last year at the Barrymore and had a great time. They perform pre-Sgt Pepper's Beatles songs as if you were seeing the Beatles when they were actually touring in the early-mid 60s. Beyond the novelty factor of them looking and sounding like the Beatles is the fact that they are actually a great band. They transcend being a Beatles tribute and turn the show into something special.
I grew up in Detroit and am old enough to remember the 1968 Tigers and their World Series victory over the Cardinals. I was also there during their 1984 season. However since moving to Madison in 2006 I have become a big Brewers fan and I think this might be their year---assuming they can get past the Phillies. However this creates a dilemma because there is a reasonable chance that the Brewers could end up meeting the Tigers in the World Series. I cannot imagine rooting against either team and I am inclined to lean toward the Brewers, but it feels like I am abandoning the team that brought me so much joy (and truth be told a fair amount of heartache). My wife Heather and my son Sam have already told me that I am all alone on this one, they don't care about the Tigers and will be rooting for the Brew Crew in October. What would you do?
