Barely awake, staggering in the blinding sun while walking the dog, I couldn't help but notice the signs (actual and figurative) around me yesterday morning. Enterprising youths, already preparing for a hot day, were putting out chairs and mixing up their product. It was a perfect day for lemonade.
At least three different "teams" of kids on my block offered up the cool beverage for 50 cents a glass. And they made some cash for sure! One team made their lemonade stand mobile by loading everything in a red wagon and taking it on the road around the neighborhood. Estimates were close to $20 for their final haul. Wow.
My husband bought us both a glass while we were finishing up some yard work. Ahhhhh, so refreshing and fun!
