Lunch at Johnny Delmonico’s Wednesday. Is this Wednesday. It’s a blur. My kind of blur. A restaurant week food blur.
Since I’m new to Madison, and work and live in the far west district, going downtown is still a great experience for me. I love the look of the capitol. And love the help it gives me with directions, just by sitting there so proudly. Park the car. Walk the couple of blocks. And settle into another great lunch. If you go for lunch, and Kerry is your waitperson, you’re in for a fun experience. Look up personable in the dictionary, and that’s him. Food was as good as expected, and I looked around the full restaurant and wondered what all the patrons do for a living. I didn’t notice any famous politicians, but I bet some major issues have been discussed within those walls.
Speaking of the capitol, after lunch, Lisa and I did something we’d never done before. No not over tip the waiter. We dropped into the capitol. Just in time to join the 1 o’clock tour. Wow. What a pleasant surprise. That’s the job I want. Tour guide at the capitol. Everyone should take the tour. And when you’re led into the Governor’s conference room, sit at the head of the table. That’s where I sat, and that’s where the Governor sits during meetings in that room. Scott Walker. Scott Miller. Not that big of a stretch. Ok, maybe it is.
Back to Delmonico’s. Great restaurant week menu, and we’ll go back. And to the capitol too!
