When my mom described the "tasty little sandwich" she and my dad had for dinner last night, I knew I'd have to share this similar recipe. It yields a dozen so it's good for parties.
12 Hawaiian sweet rolls, split
1 pound shaved Black Forest ham
12 oz Gruyere cheese, sliced
1 tub (8oz) chive and onion cream cheese
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1-1/2 tsp dried minced onion
Arrange the bottoms of the rolls in a greased baking dish. Layer with ham and Gruyere cheese. Spread each roll top with cream cheese; place over Gruyere.
In a small bowl, combine the butter, Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce and onion. Pour over sandwiches. Let stand for 20 minutes.
Cover and bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until heated through.
