The last time someone wrote in a yearbook of mine was in seventh grade. I was moving that summer from Texas to Florida--that yearbook is filled with pleas to "Stay In Touch", "Keep In Touch" and "Don't Forget Me, I Won't Forget You". I write those words starting with capital letters because of the seriousness with which they were written. Yearbook autographs can be SO melodramatic, don't you think?
You may find this weird but I didn't let anyone sign any of my yearbooks in high school. You might think I am missing out--that there's great big fun in reading those entries. I beg to differ. Some kids took cruel delight in ruining a page with a sprawling signature, others wrote tiny hidden messages that my high school friends are just finding now (with the help of their new reading glasses, natch!).
I know how my best friends felt about me in high school--they were (and are) my best friends, after all! I don't need ink on a glossy page to remind me.
