Researchers: A Long Commute Leads to a Lower IQ

July 25, 2017

If you have a long commute, it could be hurting your intelligence.

Seriously.

A new study has found that people who spend more than two hours a day in a car will see a steady reduction in their intelligence.

The British researchers found that motorists who spend more than two hours a day in a car saw their IQ scores fall faster than those who had little to no driving. The measurements were taken over the course of five years.

By the way, the study found that participants who watched TV for more than three hours a day had a lower average brainpower as well.

Researchers told the media that the loss of intelligence could be tied to the fatigue and stress of driving.
