Demi Lovato’s fifth studio album “Confident” is nominated for Best Pop Vocal album at this weekend’s Grammy Awards.

So how did the pop star react to the early morning phone call from her manager that said she was nominated for a Grammy Award?  Check out what her initial reaction was to the news in the video below.

Lovato says that being nominated for a Grammy Award means a lot because the award is voted on by industry insiders.

“Whenever you make an album you’re never thinking about the end result. You’re thinking about the process, and you’re putting everything into it,” Lovato said. “What is really cool about the Grammy’s is that your peers (voted). These are people that you’ve looked up to your entire life… so to be nominated by them is an honor.”

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards will air from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET on CBS.
