My husband and I went to High School together, but didn't "see" each other for another 5 years. One day I saw Michael across the street from where I worked and I fell in love. I watched him everyday and found ways to run into him in town. Our good friends asked us to bowl on their team and that's how it all started. At the end of the season, our friend Vickie asked how many trophy's she needed to get (we were in last place-the tailenders) and Michael said just 1 for the 2 of us . That Christmas he proposed and our journey began... Almost 37 years later, I love him more each day. - Mary Jo
We fell in love the old fashion way. We met on Match.com. Our first date was at a bar. I fell in love right away, but she wasn't so sure. In fact she chose to date somebody else first. Fortunately for me that relationship didn't work. So I saw she was available again and gave it another shot. This time she saw the light. That was almost ten years ago. We are now happily married and have a beautiful 5-year old son named Sam. - Brent
Steve and I met on a blind date in 2001 arranged by his daughter, who I worked with. From that moment on, we've been constant companions. I moved in with him just 3 months later. Today, we are happily married. We've been through alot, births of our grandkids, deaths of family members, surgeries, unemployment, and yet have weathered it all as a team. We remain committed to continue the journey of life together. - Lois
It was Easter break and I asked a friend to get me a blind date(not literally). She asked one of her friends if she knew anybody who might be interested and she volunteered for the task. We double dated and were introduced to each other and for the next 30 minutes we talked non-stop. we both decided at that moment that this was the one but didn't tell each other for quite a while as we were goping to school in different states. We haveen married almost 40 years best decision we ever made and haven't stopped talking since. - Richard
I met Scott, after a divorce on Yahoo Personals. When he first showed up, I was immediately impressed. I was making a special dish that night that called for diced tomatoes with basil. He picked up plain dice tomatoes. I lived in a remote area at the time and when he knew I needed basil, he drove all the way back to the store and bought them. This is someone that he'd never met before...all I could think is "what a guy." 5 years later, we are still together. - Gina
It was actually love at first "talk". My husband's sister & my boss at the time were friends & they played matchmaker. My boss gave me Gene's phone number & told me to call him. My sister-in-law was supposed to tell him I was going to call....which she didn't. After the first awkward minutes of conversation (which we both remember word-for-word) we talked for about 3 hours. We both knew during that 3 hours that 3+ hour phone call that we were meant for each other. We continued our phone "dates" for about a month before we met each other in person. That was almost 17 years ago. We're still crazy, mad in love with each other & still carrying on our long conversations. - Janean
I had just turned 30 and after a series of failed relationships, I had almost given up. Then, by a twist of fate, or divine intervention, I volunteered for the first time at our church for an event. I was lamenting not being able to find a 'nice guy' to a few of the other ladies who had volunteered. One told me about her brother, and agreed to set us up on a Blind Date - he walked in the door and never left! Fast forward 10 years later and I will definitely say he was my love at first sight! - Sara
When I went to visit a friend he and his fiance were eating a 7-course meal prepared by a woman who knew his fiance but barely knew my friend. I thought, "What a wonderful, caring human being she must be, to do such a thing for a person she hardly knows. I MUST get to know a person with a heart that big." I got her number from my friend's fiance, got together with her, and two years later we married. It has been 13 years and our love has only deepened. - Hank
Looked into his eyes. Once I saw him I knew. Valentine's we would be. Eternity, it's true - Amanda
I first met my husband almost 9 years ago now. I had just become friends with his sister and we all met out for drinks and karaoke one night at Pedro's. I was immediately drawn to him, he just seemed so laid back and fun, BUT I knew it couldn't go anywhere because he had a girlfriend - of 10 years! We all hung out that night and had a great time, but that was that. It wasn't until him and that girlfriend broke up about 6 months later that things started to fall in place for us. We wound up spending a lot more time together as part of our shared group of friends, hanging out at the Glass Nickel playing pool, and watching movies or having dinner at his sisters house. After a few months of trying to pretend we didn't have feelings for each other, we started dating and have been together ever since! We got married this past June and will celebrate our 7th anniversary together in May. :) - Alicia
It was after a baseball game and he was on the visiting team. As he wallked off the pitcher's mound, he tipped his hat at me and I was enthralled. He was just as nice as could be and wonder of wonders, he asked me out! That was 45 years and three children ago and he is still tipping his hat at me!!! - Luanne
I first saw my husaband 40 years ago. He had his shirt off and was new home from the military. I thought oh my, I need to get to know him, and I did. He purchased a car from my dad and had me ride with him to clear the windows no defrosters. We didn't need defrosters the windows stayed clear the whole 50 miles from Srping Green to Baraboo. Things were really heating up between us he asked me out and I said yes. We have been together ever since married 38 years. He is my best friend, great dad and husband. - Deb
I met my fiance at a NYE party and when I saw him across the room i knew i had to meet him! That was 5 years ago and we are getting married this spring. - Megan
It was January, 1979. The Fort Atkinson High School wrestling team was at Cambridge High School for it's annual non-conference meet. I was a member of a group called Mat Maids. We ran the concession stands at home meets, and cleaned the mats before and after meets. I was working the concession stand at the end of the night, and a group of wrestlers from Fort came in. I took one look at him, and knew I would marry him. We didn't start dating for six months, (blind date set up by one of my friends, who happened to be dating one of his friends), got married April 17, 1982 and have two boys ages 26 and 22. I definitely believe in Love At First Sight! - Jacque
My husband and I met at a friends bbq. My 2 co-workers and his best friends invited me to the bbq to get my mind off my life and have a little fun. They introduced me to him, just to introduce us and that was all it took. He didn't leave my side the entire night. He told me "I knew I was going to marry you that night and if I thought I could have pulled it off I would have asked you that night". We have been married for 13 years and together for 15. Who thought a night out with the girls would turn into "Love at First Sight". - Christina
I guess you could say it all started with "like" at first sight. It all began in high school chemistry. That is where I met one of the nicest guys in the world. We quickly became friends and often found ourselves talking on the phone for hours. My mom knew right away that it was going to turn into love but I denied it. A year and a half later, we finally went out on our first date. As we walked into the movie theater, he reached for my hand. Just with that small touch, the fireworks started going off and I felt tingles all the way to my heart. My mom was right all along. We were engaged at our senior prom and married a year later. That was in 1981. We will celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary on Jan. 31. Our " like" at first sight has turned into "love for a lifetime." - Collette
I recently divorced and looking for my first place. There were geographical restrictions because of kids and I wanted to rent a small house with a basement, garage and a space for a garden, maybe even a place for a future puppy for the kids... pickings were slim. After a day of driving and looking at what my dad would have calleda slumlords dream, and meeting with said slumlords I was getting discouraged. One more appointment. From the outside the house looked promising, Garage, fenced yard, no peeling paint or missing shingles and the lawn was neatly mowed. I knocked on the door and it was opened by a tall man with gorgeous blue eyes, a nice smile, I was smitten. I checked and no ring on the hand. He showed me the house and we started talking and talking and talking. It was like we already knew each other. I decided to rent the house. I had not sdaid anything about a dog but he volunteered that although it was against his typical landlord rules - if I wanted a dog for the kids and promised to kennel train it - that he thought it would be great for them and I could have a small dog. Heck after he said that I KNEW he was the one for me. Of course I had to ask him out the first (and second time) but we married 5 years later and I fall in love all over every time he walks in the door. - Lin
I remember our first date 35 years ago. I got all dressed up planning to go to a nice restaurant. He picked me up and took me to Baumgarten's in Monroe ( not a place for fancy clothes). We're still romancing after 35 years of marriage. I have even acquired a taste for a limburger sandwich at Baumgarten's a few times a year. - Stephanie
