 I grew up in a small town in Southwestern Michigan. In my younger days I weighed my career choices of wanting to be a lawyer or a veterinarian and soon found out that I tend to have the heart of a diplomat and no stomach for the sight of blood so that pretty much ruled out both of those choices. Instead I chose a path in radio and have never regretted it. My inspiration came from listening to warm and friendly people on the radio who made me feel like I was the only person they were speaking to. They made me feel like I was their friend even though we had never met. I thought……I want to do that. I want to make people feel like they have a friend.
Plus, I loved to pretend like I was acting in TV commercials. My parents caught me at the kitchen sink one day acting out how well Comet cleanser will work on YOUR kitchen sink….”just look at that sparkle” I said…only to turn around to my parental audience sparkling themselves. They discovered they not only had a clean kitchen sink (thank to Comet) but a daughter who was destined to be in “show business” somehow. (or a maid)
I started my career at my small town radio station and met all those inspiring and talented people and did become their friend. In my career I’ve done a tour of the Midwest stopping in places like Ft. Wayne, IN and Dayton, OH before settling here in Madison the past twelve years.
When I’m not playing music for a living, I’m writing it. I like to sit at the piano and make up my own little tunes. I’m also an avid bird watcher and all around nature lover! I’m happiest when I’m outside no matter what the weather. I’m sure you’ve heard me talk about the weather a time or two.
I hope you’ve found a friend in me over the past years.
