Of course, no place is perfect, but Madison is as close as I want to come to living in heaven without being dead. I grew up in Chicago, which is still home to many friends and family. GREAT place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
I love that people are friendly in Madison, and in the surrounding area, too.
I love the proximity of the country. 10 minutes and I'm outta town when I need a reminder of Wisconsin's natural beauty.
I love the Badgers. "Going to the game" in Madison is an experience we have made unique, and I cherish it.
I love the lay of the land. The parks, the bike trails, the lakes (I love fishing!), our incredible Downtown and the UW campus.
I love the festivals, Michael's frozen custard, and regular leaf collection.
I love the diversity. The left-wingers, the right-wingers, the old hippies, the new parents, the Madison "lifers" and the new arrivals.
All that makes it pretty easy to have something to talk about on the radio every morning. And I do love that, too.
I love turning the volume up so people in the hall ask "What's going on?"
I love getting to meet or interview celebrities and listeners alike.
I love the thrill of someone telling me about something they heard us do on the air and how it affected them.
I love helping with charity projects.
I love having kids on the radio.
And I am truly grateful for what I have.
Thank you for listening! I hope to meet you sometime...
I LOVE that...

Thank you for welcoming me as the newest member of the WOLX staff! Being on the air with Fletch and Adam is such a treat...I've worked in radio for close to 20 years and this is the most fun I've ever had without a doubt.
I started my career in Tallahassee, Florida while attending Florida State University. After graduation, I moved to Gainesville, Florida for four years and then spent a decade in Jacksonville, Florida. I met my husband there; we have one son who is now a first grader and the light of our lives.
When my husband found his perfect job is Madison, I was thrilled. The area is beautiful, the city is lively and the schools are awesome too. My friends here are wonderful, especially my neighborhood mom's group. We meet up once a month to try new restaurants and dish the gossip. It's a blast!
I also spent a year on the air in Milwaukee (what a commute!) before coming to WOLX. I hope that I'm here for a very, very long time.
My favorite thing in the world to do is read and I read everything--fiction and non, magazines and thousand page epic novels. I devour books. I also enjoy cooking, particularly baking cookies. If you've got an awesome cookie recipe, please send it my way! I'll make a batch for Fletch, Adam and I to taste test on the air.

I am a tried and true Madisonian, and can think of nothing better than listening to tunes at the Memorial Union in a starburst chair, or chomping on a brat on Badger Saturdays at Camp Randall.
LaFollette High School set me on the path to UW-Whitewater, which has their own student radio station. If you can believe it, while in college I hosted a Reggae show and sported some fine looking dreadlocks. It was after the broadcast journalism bug bit me, that I traded my locks for a microphone and tape recorder and hit the beat.
Out of college, I landed my first radio job in Fort Atkinson in 1996, where I was a news reporter in the morning. I covered just about anything and everything imaginable. That opened things up for a job back in Mad-Town at WOLX. I started doing afternoon newscasts in 2000, and switched over to news in the morning in 2001.
As far as music goes, I’m kind of like and iPod. My tastes range from the WOLX favs...The Beatles, Otis Redding and anything Motown...to a variety of artsits in the blues, rock, reggae, jazz and even classical genres.
Other than current events, I have a lot of different hobbies. I'm very much into skiing and biking the Lake Monona Bike Path. I'm very much a green thumb, I’m taking piano lessons, doing my own remodel work on my home and am taking classes to become a true webmaster! My favorite hobby has to be singing the hits to my niece Breanna!

I want to keep you dancing everyday from 1-6pm! You'll hear all of your favorite songs, up-to-the-minute traffic reports and as always your requests!
Q: Where is your hometown?
A: "I Was Born in a SMALLTOWN" with "Little Pink Houses" - OK, trick question, as I was hatched.
Q: How would you describe yourself in three words?
A: Fear and loathing in Vegas! Doh - that's too many words...let's try; 'Fear and Loathing'!
Q: Who is the most inspirational person in your life?
A: The Buddha...Oh, and Peyton Manning when we WIN...
Q: What is the most interesting trip you’ve ever been on?
A: A speech contest (I didn't even know I entered, a teacher recorded me!) I won...off to Washington D.C. to hang with that party animal Richard Nixon! Honest! Or perhaps, being sent to Miami to appear on 'Miami Vice'...or broadcasting live from Jamaica for 2 weeks...OK - I'm just tripping now...
Q: If you could meet anyone in the whole world, living or dead, who would it be and why?
A: Charles Lindbergh...so I could ask him HOW he went to the bathroom during the 33 hour flight to Paris!
Q: What is your favorite meal for breakfast?
A: Sugar Pops, Sugar Frosted Flakes - just hold the flakes and pops...
Q: What is your favorite song?
A: You're not gonna believe me - or worse yet, you WILL believe me; "I've Got a Gal in Kalamazoo" by Glenn Miller!
Q: What is your least favorite song?
A: Any song that is NOT, "I've Got a Gal in Kalamazoo" by Glenn Miller.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Any movie with red, and "I've got a Gal.." - oh, sorry...let's go with "American Graffiti" tied with this creepy German movie, "Far Away, So Close". You vill vatch it, and you vill like it...
Q: What is your favorite TV show?
A: Anything on the HISTORY Channel...sad isn't it? I even DREAM with an 'H' in the corner of the screen...
Q: If you had one million dollars, what would you do with it?
A: Pay someone to answer questions about what I would do with a million dollars.
Q: Do you think Elvis is really dead?
A: No, but if he IS - maybe he can find Charles Lindbergh and learn how he went to the bathroom on that flight to Paris...?
Q: What’s the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?
A: It's in the future. When I have to look someone in the eye, who has actually read this nonsense...
Q: What is one thing you couldn’t live without?
A: My paycheck! It's always such a joy signing it over to my wife - never to be heard from again.
Q: What’s in your refrigerator at home right now?
A: Like anyone else, just your basic, average Roadkill...why do you ask? Hungry???
Q: If Hollywood were to make a movie about your life, which actor would you like to see play you?
A: Rosie O'Donnell - Obviously...duh...
Q: If you could be a Superhero, what superpower would you like to have?
A: The power to make Rosie O'Donnell play me in a movie, while drinking Pepsi, seeing Gettysburg Ghosts and singing "I've Got a Gal in Kalamazoo"!

Thank you for listening to my show. I think radio should be fun and entertaining.
There's the great music and then there's the magic between songs.
When you and I talk, share a story and connect in a personal way, my prayer before each program is that it will be a blessing to you. Uplifting, fun, positive and inspirational. Laughter is medicine for the spirit so, hopefully as you listen you might actually chuckle or crack a smile every once in a while. It’s got to be fun, it’s got to be good and it’s got to be real.
In case you didn't notice, I really enjoy what I do. I grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and I’ve been on the air since I was 15 years old. It was my dream to be on the radio and nothing like needing a driver's license was gonna stop me! I just feel so at home when I sit behind a microphone. I pinch myself everyday.
Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to come into your homes....
